Here’s how to turn off — or turn back on — the speed-limit alarm in a 2025 Peugeot 308 with the i-Cockpit setup.
This is the little beep you get when you exceed the posted speed limit.
We’re going to do it through the main infotainment system.
Step 1: Open the Car Menu
From whatever screen you’re on — it doesn’t matter — just hit the little car icon down at the bottom.
That opens this menu here.
Step 2: Go Into the Full Functions List
You might already see “Excessive Speed Warning” in the shortcuts, but don’t worry about that.
We’re going to hit Functions instead.

Step 3: Scroll Down to the Speed Limit Alarm
Scroll down… down… down…
You’ll see:
- Excessive Speed Warning (the alarm when you exceed the speed limit)
- And also the option for the speed-limit change chime (a little beep when the limit itself changes)
To turn the alarm off, all we need to do is gray it out.
You’ll see it becomes deactivated until the car is turned back on.
And you’ll notice the little orange warning icon appear on the cluster for a second — that’s normal.
Step 4: Turn It Back On
If you want the alarm back on, just tap it again so it becomes green, and now the car will warn you again whenever you exceed the speed limit.
